Research Workstation
An on-site research station has been set up for public use. The computer desk is height-adjustable to allow wheelchair access. There are ergonomic furnishings to provide proper positioning and illumination can be adjusted as well.

The computer has screen-reading
software installed and provides broadband
internet access. Various input devices
can be swapped out for those who have
difficulty with a standard mouse.
There are several accessibility features built
into the operating system that can be
configured to help persons with dexterity,
vision and hearing problems. A magnifier
to visually enhance hard-copy print for
consumers is also on the desk.
This workstation may be used for consumer trial of computer accessibility items. If you wish to try out some software or hardware, please contact us to arrange an appointment. If we don't have the item on hand, we will contact local vendors and try to obtain the item for your use.
The GFL - TRAID Project
The Greater Finger Lakes TRAID Project (Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities) is housed at RCIL and offers a Loan Library of Assistive Hardware for trial use.
