On-Site Services and Programs
- Peer Advocacy - Individuals with disabilities who help you to exercise your right and responsibility to make life decisions for yourself.
- Benefits Advisement - Chart your course through the bureaucracy:
- SSD (Social Security Disability) and SSI (Supplemental Security Income).
- Medicaid, Food Stamps, Public Assistance and other disability related benefits.
- Housing Advocacy - Take your place as a resident of this community! Providing information on subsidized housing, accessible housing and the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlord. For hearing persons without TTY call the relay service at 711.
- Client Assistance Program (CAP) - A statewide network of advocates available to assist New Yorkers with disabilities in gaining access to VESID (Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities) and CBVH (Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped) services.
- Accessibility Consultation - Assisting people with disabilities who want to make changes in their environment. Increased focus on easier, low-cost ways to provide ramps.
- Support Groups - Empowering individuals to meet with a group of peers in order to enhance their lives.
- Independent Living Skills Training - Offering workshops in Independent living. Contact RCIL at 442-6470 V/TTY for further information.
- Spina Bifida Resource Center (SBRC) - (SBRC)
at RCIL.is funded by a grant from the Family Consumer Council of the
Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office.
SBRC is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with spina bifida and their families, especially those living in the Finger Lakes and Western New York Region of New York State. SBRC will provide educational materials and programs, support services and advocacy and will facilitate collaborative efforts to assist individuals with spina bifida and their families.
SBRC will be able to provide workshops and presentations, advocacy and assistance with the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process, and a regional conference in the community. - Systems Advocacy - RCIL promotes disability public policy advocacy through a statewide network. Contact RCIL to join the New York Statewide Systems Advocacy Network and be heard by our state leaders.

GFL TRAID Project
The Greater Finger Lakes Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities
Project is housed at RCIL and offers a Loan Library of Assistive Hardware for Trial Use.*
